How it works

Managed listings

These are campsites, parks, glamping sites, places with infrastructure, and similar listings that operate as named facilities. Visitors can usually see the address, contact details, promotions, and facilities. Owners are asked for size, street, and postcode when editing the profile.

Informal map pins

Wild places, parking spots, and similar pins are shared by the community, not run as business profiles. Visitors see coordinates and practical notes; street address, phone, and owner contact are hidden. Contributors can add such a pin without full business details.

Types explained

Managed listings

Camping

A full-service campsite that usually accepts tents, caravans, and motorhomes. On a profile it signals a classic camping ground; when editing, pick this if your site welcomes different types of campers under one operation.

Place for tents

A place focused on tent pitches rather than a large mixed resort. Visitors can expect a tent-oriented site; owners should use this when the main offer is camping on a field, not a full camping complex.

Camper park

A park for motorhomes and camper vans. In most cases tents are not accepted. Visitors know to expect vehicle pitches and camper services; owners should choose this when the site is built for campers, not tent camping.

Agritourism

Farm stay or agritourism accommodation in a rural setting. Visitors look for lodging tied to a farm or countryside experience; owners use this for agrotourism offers rather than a standard campsite.

Glamping

Glamping with ready-made accommodation — yurts, lodges, safari tents, and similar. Visitors expect comfort beyond a bare pitch; owners choose this when structures and hotel-like comfort are the main product.

Place with infrastructure

A managed site with basic facilities (toilet, water, picnic tables) where camping is allowed — often run by a municipality, harbour, operator, or similar. Visitors see contact details and a full profile; owners choose this when the place is operated commercially (including cash payment), even if it is not a classic full-service campsite.

Informal listings

Wild place

An informal spot for overnight stays or stopovers in nature, without a camping operator. Visitors treat it as a community tip on the map; contributors add coordinates and useful notes rather than business contact data.

Parking

A parking or stopover for campers marked as a map pin — without a business profile. Visitors check whether overnight stays or basic services are possible; contributors describe practical details about the stopover spot.
